Blade II (2002)

The first one was ok, but I can't think of a good reason why I had to see the second one. Some good fighting scenes, but not much else.

RocknRolla (2008)

Scattershot, but definitely a return to form for Guy Ritchie. Certainly not in the same league as Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels or Snatch, but much better than Revolver.

A Lonely Place To Die (2011)

I didn’t know anything about this film going in, so I thought it was a mountain climbing adventure and then a horror film before realizing it was an action thriller. Not your typical kidnapping ransom story.

I like that it takes the point of view of the people who stumbled upon the captive. After that, a lot of people die. Pretty much almost everyone who comes in contact with the little girl. A bit uneven, but watchable.

15 Minutes (2001)

DeNiro and Burns are both good in their roles, but the insane bad guys really steal the show. The plot twists and turns, always leaving you guessing. Just when you think things are winding up, BAM, a new turn.

Bulletproof Monk (2003)

The plot, and most aspects of this film, were nothing special. The fight scenes looked very staged. However, I did enjoy some of the chemistry between Seann William Scott and Chow Yun-Fat.

Hellboy (2004)

I actually liked this Guillermo del Toro film better on the second viewing. It suffers from lack of a compelling storyline and a believable back story, which prevents it from being above average.

The Bourne Supremacy (2004)

A good, not great, sequel by Greengrass. I definitely prefer Doug Liman, the director of the original. Some fantastic action sequences, but the story got away from him. The flow was off and the occasional jerky action sequences couldn't save it.

Largo Winch (2008)

A very French action movie based on a Belgian comic book. American audiences will be slightly confused and a little annoyed for the first half of the film. Plot points and story arcs aren’t being shoved down the viewer’s collective throats. Knowing it was based upon a comic book, I actually expected something a little more superhero-like. In reality, it's more of a white collar thriller.

I discovered today that there is a sequel. Now that all the characters have been set up and the back-story told, I’m hoping for something more straightforward in the next go-around.

Running Scared (2006)

Corrupt police drama with Paul Walker doing a decent job in the lead role. I liked the direction and editing of the film. It was touted somewhere as being more violent than the Kill Bills. While this is far from being true, it's still pretty violent. Enjoyed.
