A documentary following Thor
Heyerdahl’s grandson on his journey across the pacific from Peru to French
Polynesia. Thor’s exploits were recently featured in the Oscar nominated
Norwegian film Kon-Tiki. Tangaroa’s narration was in English, but much of the
crew’s conversation was in Norwegian. Even so, I was still able to follow most
of what went on and enjoy the documentary.
One of my favorite lines from the
film was, “It’s the first time I’ve been taking a shower and fishing at the same time.” Said as he’s shampooing his hair in
the rain and holding a fishing rod. Makes you want to drop everything and seek
out adventure.
