I downloaded this by accident, thinking I was acquiring The Killing Fields, so I didn’t know anything about the film going in. It’s a Texas crime mystery/drama. However, once I saw Chloe Moretz, I knew everything would be ok. I trust her judgment implicitly for the time being.
Nice cinematography work. There is an unnerving tone throughout the movie. It held my attention to the end. Turns out this is a Mann Family project, with Michael Mann producing, his daughter Ami Canaan Mann directing, and her half-sister Aran Reo Mann as the production designer. While the film didn’t blow me away, it’s definitely worth seeing.
