God Bless America (2011)

I found myself saying “This is totally F’d up” a lot. The film/manifesto makes a lot of valid points about America today and its relationship with pop culture. But then again, it skeet shoots a baby with a shotgun, so it’s hard to take seriously. How does a movie like this get green lit when it alienates 90% of the audience by essentially calling them mindless a-holes? I kind of enjoyed it.

Jesus Is Magic (2005)

I adore the foul-mouthed little Jewess that is Sarah Silverman. She says what she wants, but more importantly, she's funny. This film is unusual in it's format, extremely funny, and not so funny. It's worth watching for the good parts.

Super (2010)

Another effed up indie about fake superheroes. This one is crazy violent with a raging current of dark humor throughout. I’m a huge Ellen Page fan, and she was downright awesome in this role. I could eat her up with a spoon and fork. Not a film for everyone—like I said, the humor is vulgar and dark. The violence will catch some off guard. Kick Ass is still the world supreme champ of this genre, but Super isn’t a bad wannabe.
