Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (Død Snø 2) (2014)

Way better than Dead Snow 1, which isn’t saying much, since that movie was a disaster. A bigger budget and much higher production value elevate this sequel to a somewhat entertaining level. Some added humor didn’t hurt either. Perhaps a bit too much senseless violence and killing. (Never thought I’d say that)

Adventureland (2009)

The critics made this film sound smarter than it really was. Good, but not great.

Paper Heart (2009)

A quirky, original romantic comedy mockumentary. I think that covers all the bases. The movie itself is fairly entertaining, but it's the special features that actually tie everything together. Some of the funniest and most revealing moments are from the cutting room floor.

Veronica Mars (2014)

Being a super fan of the series, I was definitely the target audience for this movie. It's no easy task piecing together a feature film based on a TV show, especially a decade later. Dead Like Me? Fail. Strangers With Candy? Fail. The list goes on and on.

Hats off to Rob Thomas for making something as good as or better than most of the episodes. Seeing the gang all back together was a real treat.

Knocked Up (2007)

Refreshingly inappropriate and hysterically funny. Humor on every level, but most of it resides below the waistline.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Like the first Iron Man, Hulk started out strong. There were some decent story developments and exotic set locations. I particularly enjoyed the opening in Brazil, where I could understand what was being said in Portuguese. But like Iron Man, Hulk jumped on the formulaic bandwagon, which brought us to a showdown of an evil Hulk vs. good Hulk. Classic screenplay cop-out.

Superbad (2007)

Extremely funny, but also very crude. It's like a day in the life of the dudes from Knocked Up when they were younger. If you're not easily offended and enjoy perverse, juvenile humor, then this is the film for you.
