How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008)

 

I prefer Simon Pegg when he's starring in his own silly movies, like Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. This was very predictable, cliché, and not very funny.

Playing By Heart (1998)

 

Separate relationship stories eventually weave together in a celebration of love. Some work better than others. Angelina Jolie shines. I miss Sean Connery. Weird seeing Jon Stewart acting.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe (2008)

Unnecessary. I'm not sure who was clamoring to have another X-Files movie, but I'm sure they regret it now.

Robot Overlords (2014)

Great name. Stupid film. It’s the British Red Dawn, but with robots. Logic is set aside in lieu of CGI, as usual.

Shadow Dancer (2012)

A mostly thrill-less IRA thriller.

The Last King of Scotland (2006)

One of those well made films with great performances that you enjoyed but never want to see again. A lot of heavy material with circumspect characters. Makes me wish I knew more about the historical accuracy of the film. Africa: what a messed up place.
