Jojo Rabbit (2019)

A novel take on Nazi Germany and Hitler. There are some good messages buried in this dark comedy. Sometimes cute and touching.

Run, Fatboy, Run (2007)

What a disappointment. Great cast, ok story, terrible script. 90% of the jokes fell flat. The humor is dull, recycled, and literally tries to hit you over the head with the punchline. A better writer and a few tweaks to the story could have saved it. David Schwimmer as a director probably didn't help much either.

Hello Ladies The Movie (2014)

Maybe all television series should wrap-up with a movie. This was an enjoyable end cap to a quirky series that felt satisfying without being forced.

The Invention of Lying (2009)

Really sharp and funny at times. It's certainly a Ricky Gervais film, which means loads of dark, uncomfortable humor. The concept itself isn't very original, except to the extreme extent that it is taken. It's like "Yes Man", but with the whole world.

Hall Pass (2011)

It’s a shame this was a Farrelly Brothers picture instead of an Apatow one. It would have been a lot funnier. Hall Pass felt tired, forced, a deflated. Much like the wives at the start of the film. Owen Wilson isn’t funny. There’s no getting around that. But I blame the writing here. It was weak.

The premise of the movie had a lot of potential for laughs—few of which were delivered here. Nobody was allowed to cut loose like they did in better films such as Superbad, Bridesmaids, or Old School. The funniest gag of the movie was the “sneeze scene”. And the 30 second flash-forward clip after the credits rolled was funnier than the entire movie. You can safely skip this one.
