Ant-Man And The Wasp (2018)

Much of the originality and fun from the first film got lost on the road to this sequel. My question about what a person eats to stay alive for decades in the quantum realm was never answered. Most of the “science” in this movie is highly suspect. I can tolerate an average amount of preposterousness that comes with superhero movies, but it seems like they’ve gone to extreme levels lately. The second half of the film was pure lunacy.

Murder On The Orient express (2017)

Great visuals and fun characters kept things interesting and fun during the first half. The train slowed to a stop in the third act, eventually pulling into the station with a less than satisfying finish. You do what you can with the source material. Camera work made up for some of it.

White Oleander (2002)

An ofttimes depressing film about the tragic aftermath a mother's crime has on the life of her daughter. Excellent performances all around (except Rene Zellicker of course), especially by the daughter who ages and assumes several looks throughout the movie. A lot of strong female performances, if you're into that.

Stardust (2007)

Very inventive and fun once the story got under way. It's quite humorous at times too. Claire Danes is delightful as the star. Great cast altogether. This is one the whole family would enjoy watching together.

The Story Of Us (1999)

I think they wanted to show the ups and downs of a couple and their family over the years, but they spent way too much time on the downs. Sitting through screaming arguments is no fun, whether it's part of a movie or in your own family.
