Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)

Watched this classic again the other night. Still very entertaining, but it is definitely showing its age. Great writing. Some nice dark humor too. Brother and sister Joan and John are always fun to see on screen together. This is more fun on the first viewing, but worth a revisit too.

Surrogates (2009)

Along the same lines as the movie Gamer, but less realistic, if that's even possible. I couldn't buy into the plot from the get go, so the rest of the film didn't hold much weight. At least with Gamer people used surrogates or "avatars" in a recreational capacity. It's unrealistic to think that people would turn over their entire lives to these things, let alone 99% of the population.

Running Scared (2006)

Corrupt police drama with Paul Walker doing a decent job in the lead role. I liked the direction and editing of the film. It was touted somewhere as being more violent than the Kill Bills. While this is far from being true, it's still pretty violent. Enjoyed.
