It doesn’t look like they are going to stop making these, and I’m as much to blame as anyone. I’ve seen the first 5. I can’t help myself. This latest installment breaks all laws of physics, depicting action sequences that not even a highly Caffeinated teenage boys would believe. I watch these films to see what a 100+ million dollar budget looks like when it’s spattered across the screen. None of it will make sense, but it’s pretty to look at.

Haywire (2011)

I heard poor reviews on this one, but I was thoroughly entertained. Perhaps it’s because a Steven Soderbergh stlye action movie is very different than the run-of-the-mill Hollywood actioner. Think Out of Sight with George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. I was a bit frustrated with being in the dark so long, but eventually things came together.
Fight scenes are quite good, especially when it’s a woman doing the ass kicking. Her acting is much better than most fighters/wrestlers turned movie stars. Steven has an eye for talent.
