The Sheep Detectives (2026)

Once you get past the CGI sheep, it’s a cute film that focuses on community and a mystery. Made me miss Babe Pig In The City.

Green Room (2015)

Nazis are the classic bad guys throughout cinema; mainly historic dramas centered around Germany and the war. These days, however, there are plenty of Nazi white power groups shopping at Walmart and posting in our Facebook groups. The classic bad guy is back as the movie villain.

In Green Room, a struggling punk band takes a gig at a venue with an audience that leans to the right--the far far right. Things go south and I won’t spoil the rest, but it’s not for the squeamish.

This was released in 2015, before we elected a hardcore racist. Now if we want to see white power hate crimes, we can just flip on the news. New plots are unfolding weekly. I hope the story arc moves in a better direction.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)

A time traveling superhero hodgepodge. All over the place, but entertaining enough.

X2 (2003)

Much more action, violence, and special f/x than the terrific original. Story and characters were well established. Helps to watch the first one prior to viewing, as the story continues from where it left off. Glad I saw it in the theater.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Yep, Brett Ratner is no Brian Singer. This didn't come even close to living up to the first two films in the series.

Ted (2012)

Amusing at times, but not laugh-a-minute. I liked that they made the bear visible to everyone, not just the owner. That storyline has been beaten to death. It could have been much worse.
