The audience is kept in the dark for much of the film, just like our main character. Cinematography and authentic location shoots were high points. However, none of the characters are all that likeable. We are along for the ride on an intense operation, but I never felt fully invested. Not so much a movie as a very well staged reenactment of a covert op.

The Alamo (2004)
For some reason I felt like I was watching a high school play for much
of the movie. Most of the characters seemed shallow and loosely
sketched from the history books. The battle scenes were pretty cool,
but that wasn't enough to hold the movie together.

Serving Sara (2002)
Another implausible comedy with only a few laughs here and there and
not much outside of Elizabeth Hurley's amazing body to look at on
screen. Didn't even bother checking out the deleted scenes or
outtakes on the DVD.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005)
Tommy Lee does a bang up job, both in front of and behind the camera. Great acting all around. It's slow moving at the start, maybe even a tad bit confusing. But hang in there--things heat up once they head for the border. I said heat up, not speed up. You might need a Caffeinated beverage to stay alert during this one.
