Never Been Kissed (1999)

A big theme of this movie is older folks perving out on underage high school kids, and everyone is cool with it. Feels a bit more cringe 25 years later, but still quite funny in parts.

Sugar & Spice (2001)

I wasn't expecting much, but I'm afraid I got even less than that. All the acting seemed forced and the generally weak lines missed much more than they hit. They couldn't decide whether this should be a cheerleader movie or a heist flick. They failed at both.

The Last Kiss (2006)

An interesting look into relationships, how difficult it is to maintain one, and the things we do to both sabotage and save them. Really good cast and script. The film carries a pleasant mood about it, despite the heavy material.

Bubble Boy (2001)

A lot of fun. Really funny and one of those road movies that you somehow get sucked into, even if the premise is bad, like Joe Dirt.

The Sandlot (1993)

I’ve seen this several times, and I think I enjoy it less with each viewing. Few of the jokes hit. The kids are all basic movie stereotypes. The plot isn’t very compelling. Perhaps worth seeing with the family once, if there are no other options.

Planet Terror (2007)

This is Rodriguez's contribution to Grindhouse, an unabashedly violent, trashy piece of cinema that young men crave. What separates it from all the other zombie pics, and especially from the early gore films it mimics, are the fantastic characters. Rodriguez and Tarantino can't help themselves. They create dynamic, entertaining characters without even trying to.

It's too bad this double feature wasn't a huge money maker, as I would have liked seeing the 2 for the price of 1 model really take off.

A Perfect Getaway (2009)

A cat and mouse thriller set in beautiful Kauai. They try their hardest to keep you guessing, but odds are you’ll figure it out before any big reveals. My biggest complaint about the film was how the “bad” couple continued trying to sell their act even when nobody else was around. I realize this was to keep the audience in the dark, but in retrospect it didn’t make sense.
