Bill & Ted Face The Music (2020)

An inter-dimensional hot mess. I remember very little about the first two films except that they were funny. I’m not opposed to sequels that take place decades later, especially if they are done with the same care and heart that went into Cobra Kai. That wasn’t the case here.

In Face The Music, a washed up Bill & Ted bounce around through space and time trying to steal a great song from themselves while their daughters put together what’s supposed to be the greatest band of all time + Kid Cudi. Nothing made sense and few jokes landed.

Please stop making sequels to classics unless you can do it justice. I’m okay if Goonies 2 never comes out.

American Made (2017)

If you already don't think the world is a terrible place full of corrupt governments that make incredibly stupid decisions everyday, well then, this movie probably won’t save you from your epic ignorance. But that’s ok, at least you’ll be entertained. Ignorance is bliss after all. This movie serves as a nice companion piece to the terrific series Narcos. Check it out.

Red Eye (2005)

Appropriately enough, I watched this one flying home from Vancouver. Mediocre plane thrillers are more fun in the air. Nothing new here. Watch if you are hard up for an ok action movie.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009)

I made a point of not seeing this film once I heard it was produced by Happy Madison. They crank out movies dumb enough that you'll literally lose IQ points by seeing them. I still haven't recovered from the god-awful "Don't Mess With The Zohan". But, the fates aligned to have Paul Blart be the star of a Movie Night, so I gave it a viewing.

Pretty bad, but not grotesque. Acting was terrible across the board. Plot was cliché, filled with holes, and cheap. Jokes and gags were sub par, especially having seen them in the previews like 20 times.  Hmmm… maybe it was grotesque.
