Cold Storage (2026)

 

As far as mind control fungus horror comedies go, it’s pretty good. Characters are likable enough and the script keeps things moving–and exploding.

Let Him Go (2020)

It’s a slow burn with a sense of tension and dread that becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. This takes trouble with the in-laws to another level.

Phantom Thread (2017)

This didn’t feel like a Paul Thomas Anderson film to me. Sure, the film hinges on the dramatic performances of its actors. Almost to a fault in this case. There isn’t much of a plot in the traditional sense. More like very specific characters interacting with one another. It oft feels depressing, and a little dark. It’s mood heavy. Not a film you would ever crave to see again, but you won’t regret seeing it either.

Maleficent (2014)

A fun twist on the classic fairytale that appeals to a wide audience.

Another Year (2010)

Another piece of everyday life from Mike Leigh. As far as I can tell, it’s about a bunch of depressed people that rotate around a happy elderly couple. It can be quite depressing depending on who you relate with in the film. Not as enjoyable for me as his previous work.
