Election (1999)

 

A reminder that bad decisions have consequences, but don’t necessarily ruin your life. I’d forgotten how sad some of these characters are. Worth a second viewing, but not as good as I remembered it.

Rocket Science (2007)

A smart comedy about a stuttering debater attempting to come out of his shell. Some really competent performances. Nice direction and writing. Consistently funny; often laugh-out-loud.

Fired Up! (2009)

Simultaneously pokes fun at a lot of the cheer-leading movies while being one itself. Periodic funny scenes prevent this from becoming a real stinker. If you need to kill an hour and a half, there are worse ways to do it.
