Semi-Pro (2008)

Better than I thought it would be. The film draws from a deep bench of supporting comedians to deliver the laughs. My favorite is the un-jealous husband, played by Rob Corddry. Will Arnett and Andy Daly as the sports commentators were excellent too. Farrell is consistently funny.

The Iron Claw (2023)

 

Morale of the story, avoid fake wrestling at all costs and anyone who spends time watching it. I’ve never understood why people tune in to watch a bunch of roided out beefcakes pretend-fight each other. Then again, a third of our nation is functionally retarded. (this happens to overlap on a venn diagram with Trump supporters) 

The acting and commitment to their rolls was impressive. But the movie is such a downer filled with one bad decision after another.

Scotland, PA. (2001)

A take on MacBeth that borders on the edge of sanity. Takes place in the 70's with an unusual cast. Christopher Walken is great as always. There were many funny parts to this movie, but storywise it kind of lost me. And with most Shakespeare movies, everyone dies. If you like updated versions of his stuff, you'll probably enjoy this movie.

Baby Mama (2008)

One of those comedies you enjoy for it's parts, and not the whole. Steve Martin really makes the film. He should be rewarded with 5 minutes of uninterrupted eye contact.

Insomnia (2002)

It's amazing how good Robin Williams is in serious roles, and how reliably sucky he is when doing comedies. Scenery was beautiful. Good thriller.

Welcome To Mooseport (2004)

Everybody Loves Raymond was cute, but like some early Tim Allen films, his small screen persona didn't translate well to the big screen.

Primary Colors (1998)

Like watching a documentary on the Clinton campaign, only Bill banged a lot more chicks. Billy Bob Thornton was great...so was John Travolta.
