Henry Poole Is Here (2008)

Well crafted with some genuinely sincere moments. The tone was sad, but I didn't feel that way as a viewer. It's an introspective indie on life, death, and religion, without coming off as preachy.

Spare Parts (2015)

A feel good movie about a robotics club from a poor school competing with the big boys. It’s pretty sappy in a lot of places. I could have done without the multiple commercial spots for the military and McDonalds, as if those are the only options for  Hispanic kids. Based on a true story, the script really wrote itself.

Real Women Have Curves (2002)

I enjoy films that spotlight cultures different than mine. A sweet story of a fat Latina girl coming to terms with her mother and body. Worth seeing.
