Predator: Killer Of Killers (2025)

The latest in the Predator franchise. I didn’t realize it was an animated movie until I pressed play. I find it difficult to get fully engaged in a cartoon. The story and action were fine, but it lacked the suspense that comes from a live action feature.

Havoc (2005)

This angle was already covered in a slightly better film called Black and White. Havoc felt like an amateurish rip off of it. There were glimmers of quality here and there, but in the end, it was the wrong movie for Anne Hathaway to show her gritty side by getting naked. Her perfect breasts could have gone to much better use in a different film.

Planet Terror (2007)

This is Rodriguez's contribution to Grindhouse, an unabashedly violent, trashy piece of cinema that young men crave. What separates it from all the other zombie pics, and especially from the early gore films it mimics, are the fantastic characters. Rodriguez and Tarantino can't help themselves. They create dynamic, entertaining characters without even trying to.

It's too bad this double feature wasn't a huge money maker, as I would have liked seeing the 2 for the price of 1 model really take off.

Take Me Home Tonight (2011)

Not terrible, but below average across the board. Writing was weak. Acting wasn’t great. Editing was poor. I made it through to the end intact, but I’m not sure the reputations of those involved did.
