Friday Night Lights (2004)

 

Texans are morons. There's more to life than high school football, and yet everyone's lives there seem to revolve around it. Sad. Guess what, whether you win or lose state, the outcome is going to be the same: a job as a truck driver, insurance salesman, or handyman.

One of the first mainstream films to take a dark spin on superheroes. Not for kids.

Land (2021)

A story of grief, loss, isolation, and eventually; healing. Robin Wright put herself completely into this project. It’s quite heavy, but not overly bleak.

American Outlaws (2001)

Left much to be desired, but I'm a sucker for shoot em ups and explosions.

Deepwater Horizon (2016)

A dramatized retelling of the BP oil disaster in the Gulf Of Mexico. Makes you think a little more, if only for a moment, about the real cost of filling up your tank.

Rating: C

Silverado (1985)

It took me over 30 years to finally see this classic Western. Impressive cast. They checked all the boxes and the good guys won.

The Ringer (2005)

This plot was so much funnier on South Park.
