Shakespeare In Love (1998)

 

I struggled a little with them buying for a second that Gwenyth Paltrow, looking lovelier than ever, was a male actor. Some early scenes felt ham-fisted. However, I completely bought in by the third act. The interplay between what was happening with Shakespeare in front of and behind the curtain was enthralling. 

I’m not convinced it deserved all the awards it received, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Stardust (2007)

Very inventive and fun once the story got under way. It's quite humorous at times too. Claire Danes is delightful as the star. Great cast altogether. This is one the whole family would enjoy watching together.

Shackleton (2002)

Based on the English explorer Shackleton, and his journey to the Arctic. Production was outstanding. Great story of courage and survival.
