A worthy follow-up to Thomas McCarthy's The Station Agent, which I
loved. The Visitor is a much subtler, slower paced film. What's unique
about McCarthy is how he can make the most obscure hobbies into an
entertaining, feature-length film. Trains, drumming, what have you. In
the end, they are all just devices in which to paint rich characters
around. Not as satisfying as Station Agent, but still good.
